Germany’s Luxury Car of the Year 2020

On the journey towards more sustainable electric performance, we wouldn't settle for making the car of the day, week or month. We went straight for Car of the Year.

Polestar 2 is Luxury German Car of the Year (GCOTY)

Polestar 2 was chosen as German Car of the Year (GCOTY) in the Luxury category. A jury of 18 automotive journalists were impressed with the Polestar 2, much like other journalists from all around the world. Their selection was based on a number of criteria like driving pleasure, drivetrain, safety and price/performance ratio.

In addition to the luxury category, which includes all cars with an entry-level price of €50,000 and higher, the competition has four other categories: compact, premium, new energy, and performance.

This award means that Polestar 2 has qualified for the final round, along with the four other finalists, two of which are also electric vehicles. These five were chosen from 72 vehicles that have been released since the end of 2019. The jury will announce the winner on November 16th.

Polestar 2 won Luxury Car of the Year, but what it embodies goes further than that: a more sustainable future, which we'll continue to lead the way towards.
