Head of Creative Editorial I Global Communications & PR

We are looking for a Head of Creative Editorial to lead our in-house newsroom, part of the PR & Communications team. We are looking for a leader. A curious and experienced storyteller who is passionate about journalism and committed to creating new and innovative ways to tell stories and engage audiences.


Let us describe the challenge we offer

In this role you will be a key member of the PR & Communications team working alongside leads for PR, Events, and Internal Comms to elevate the creative impact of announcements, events, campaigns, and editorial content and ensure that all our activities are maximized for earned and shared media audiences. This role is based at Polestar’s global headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden.


What you will do

This is a people leader position. You will lead a small team of Polestar journalists and project leads with a mission to bring our products, values, and people to life through editorial content and earned media first opportunities. 

One of your responsibilities will be to drive strategy, newsroom culture and quality reporting and establish a clear and compelling vision for our editorial content. You will take an audience-centric approach that builds credibility and deepens engagement as well as develop thought-leadership content including speeches and opinion pieces on topics and issues that matter to Polestar’s audiences – particularly in the areas of sustainability, design, and innovation.

Further on you will:

  • Oversee editorial and documentary content on the News section of our website, Twitter and beyond increasing its volume, quality, and diversity, evolving formats, and identifying new creative opportunities
  • Collaborate with our PR and Events teams and external partners to deliver news generating and socially engaging campaigns that deliver on our strategic goals
  • Find new ways to grow our audience through maximizing the distribution of the content the team creates
  • Manage editorial content production including budget, vendor and asset management


Who you are

We are looking for you who has an interest in the new electric journey within the changing automotive industry and burning curiosity about people, business and a strong sense of what makes a good story. You work well under pressure and at speed. You are a creative thinker who looks for novel solutions that improve upon conventional ways of doing things. You do everything with excellent attention to detail, laser focus on quality, and ability to consider the big picture.

For this position we believe you have:

  • 10+ years of experience and proven success in newsroom management and team leadership
  • A deft editorial hand and an ability to guide and mentor a news team to perform high standards
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills; proven ability to translate complex concepts into easily digestible terms
  • Fluency in English, preferably being a native English speaker
