What you'll do

You will be responsible for developing and carrying out whole vehicle simulation and analysis within the Vehicle Development team.

The Role

  • Work within the vehicle energy attributes group
  • Development of whole vehicle and system level models
  • Run simulation studies and status updates to support vehicle development
  • Update models to incorporate and assess changes to vehicle hardware, operating modes, calibrations, and physical test data
  • Prepare reports and feed back results and recommendations to the technical and project management teams
  • Proactively recommend component, system, and/or calibration changes that improve overall vehicle efficiency
  • Engage cross-functionally with other areas of the business, e.g., vehicle attributes, thermal & climate systems, electric propulsion, interiors, driveline, vehicle calibration, and electrical groups

Who you are

  • You will have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant area with some industry experience
  • Technical background in virtual modelling and simulation, including development of complex models and model correlation
  • Good initiative, with the ability to plan and organise, and to manage own time and prioritise
  • A flexible approach to work, with a desire to thrive in a dynamic and fast-moving environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to troubleshoot problems, applying innovative and creative approaches where required
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and aural), good collaboration skills, and the ability to work effectively across teams within the organisation
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office tools
  • No visa or other restrictions for working in the UK or travelling in the European Union

Desirable experience

  • Experience in electrified vehicle development and HV systems
  • Experience with Matlab, Simulink, Python
