Due to aggressive growth plans Polestar is currently looking to recruit a Simulation / Analysis Engineer.

Key Objectives & Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Principal Engineer – Thermal Systems, you will be responsible for the simulation and analysis of climate and thermal systems within the Vehicle Development team, focusing on calibration & system operation in support of thermal & vehicle efficiency targets.


The Role

Development of 1D vehicle simulation models covering cabin climate & thermal systems

  • Maintain models in accordance with changes to calibration, operating modes, and vehicle test data
  • Processing of raw test to obtain meaningful information from selected signals
  • Correlation of models to physical data
  • Preparation of reports and feedback to the technical and project management teams
  • Proactively recommend calibration changes that improve overall vehicle efficiency
  • Engage cross-functionally with Vehicle Attributes, Thermal & Climate Systems, Electric Propulsion, and Vehicle Calibration


  • You will have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant area with at least 3 years of industry experience
  • Demonstrable experience or understanding in the following areas:
    • Development of complex system models using in MATLAB and Simulink/Simscape
    • Correlation of models to vehicle test data
    • System control and calibration experience
    • Familiarity with automotive data acquisition tools
    • Vehicle CAN, LIN & PWM signal processing
  • Comfortable with working within tight time frames
  • You will be someone who takes a ‘fresh-eyes’ approach to problem solving and is comfortable with presenting new alternative ideas to the norm
