Polestar is on a blazing new trail, dedicating ourselves to the development and refinement of electric vehicle performance. We are currently looking for a Software and Electronics Process Leader that will add invaluable support to the Processes, Methods and Tools team.

The Processes, Methods and Tools (PMT) team is a part of the Polestar R&D organization. The team’s mission is to deliver Processes, Methods and Tools used for the electrical & software development and verification.

What you’ll do

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Lead the development of Polestar Software and Electronics processes, creating working groups to define new processes and/or improve the existing ones
  • Support the deployment of the processes across the development teams
  • Provide direction, information and guidance to the teams regarding standards, policies and procedures
  • Ensure that our engineering teams are complying to Polestar quality goals and our implementation of ASPICE and other industry standards
  • Execute internal capability assessments (or coordinate external assessments) and ensure corrective actions are addressed, and verify compliance
  • Monitor the quality of suppliers and carry out supplier capability assessments

Essentially, you will be responsible and represent the Software & Electrical engineering teams in all software process and quality related matters.

You are eager to find solutions even if the path forward is not straight. You are talented in various programming skills, good with numbers and have no trouble finding facts and figures.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years experience in software development within the automotive industry
  • Experience developing and implementing software development processes
  • Knowledge of standards such as Automotive SPICE, CMMI, ISO 26262 and ISO 21434
  • Practical knowledge of CI/CD processes
  • Good communication, presentation, negotiation and assertiveness skills
  • Fluent in English language

Desired Experience, but not a must:

  • Automotive SPICE assessor qualified
  • Experience in automotive software projects in a quality related role
  • Successful implementation of a quality system in a large automotive program
  • Experience with Agile software development principles
  • SUMS (Software Update Management System)
