We are looking for a person with high experience within HV Battery System development who will have the overall responsibility of the design & development of Battery Disconnect Unit (BDU), at Polestar. Read more below and apply today!

In this role you’ll be a part of Polestars’ Battery components team which is a part of the Propulsion Department. This is a team with the mission to deliver results which exceed the customers’ expectations.  

This position is located at our HQ, in Gothenburg. 

What you'll do

Essentially, you will be our Lead Engineer of Battery Disconnect Unit (BDU) & will focus on:

  • Lead and take part in the electrical/mechanical design activities from concept to industrialization for HV Battery components and deliver technical solutions.
  • Establish DV and PV plan, with supplier.
  • Communicate externally with Supplier, internally with various disciplines within EPS, along with Logistics, ME, Service
  • Be responsible for the component delivery time plan, change management, reporting to Propulsion project team
  • Be proactive in spotting any potential risks that might jeopardize the program time plan
  • Be responsible for corresponding SFMEA review
  • Be responsible for product release
  • Contribute to continuous improvement on way of working, process development, etc
  • Work with SQM to ensure proper quality standard of the BDU product.

  • You are enthusiastic, motivated, well-organized, and driven. You’re not afraid to try new approaches and out of the box methods. Further on we believe you have a holistic view, including vision, business, and customers.
  • You are a fast learner and it is qualifying to have previous experience in systemization of HV battery design for Automotive industry
  • Understanding the electrical aspects of designing HV systems.
  • Experience in HV Battery standards (China Battery GB standards, UNEC R100 and IEC-, SAE-, ISO- battery standards)
  • Basic knowledge in safety aspects of Battery design
