Business Analyst – Commerce

Let us describe the challenge we offer

As a Business Analyst on the Commerce team, you will ensure that business and customer perspectives are addressed, eliciting information to enable delivery. You will work closely with the digital product team to ensure alignment and cross-functional collaboration. You will also work as a liaison among different stakeholders in order to understand their viewpoint, to ensure close alignment among stakeholders and the vision set by the Associate and Senior Digital Product Managers.

In addition, this role provides context around market, competitive intelligence and customer needs and pain points, to help the team define the work at hand. As such, you will play an important role in ensuring the team is aligned, especially across competence areas.

Polestar’s Digital department is a key enabler of the entire business, leveraging best-of-breed technology to create critical digital products across several domains.

Digital Commerce Solutions is responsible for the delivery of digital solutions to be consumed by the different customer journeys. Product areas found within Commerce include Polestar’s Car Configurator tool, Digital Storefront (pre-owned, pre-configured, extras Web Shop, etc.), Checkout, Order & Delivery, as well as Financial Services Partner integrations and the Fleet business.


What you’ll do

  • Work closely with Polestar teams cross-functionally to document requirements, workflow charts and system diagrams; studying system capabilities and writing specifications
  • Provide Technical business analysis support to Polestar North America digital team, contributing to all phases of product and project lifecycles.
  • Responsible for liaising between business users and technologists to exchange information in a concise, logical, and understandable way in coordination with the Technology team.
  • Support your team with executing the Digital strategy, providing fact-based analysis of the business/digital environment for the specific digital product, service, or platform, utilizing information gathered from a variety of resources and channels.
  • Identify process gaps and improve systems by studying current practices and designing modifications.
  • Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Partner with the Commerce Senior Product Manager and Associate Product Manager in feature creation and acceptance criteria, communicate trade-offs effectively with various competence groups (Service Designers, UX/UI Designers, Engineers, etc.)


Who you are

  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience working in Digital or IT related projects.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, information systems, computer science or related degree.
  • Experience in various software platforms including SaaS, Custom software development and out of the box software products.
  • Must possess technical knowledge around product architecture, application integration and API connectivity.
  • Experience documenting business and software requirements with multiple methodologies and tools; understanding of best practice in UI/UX design.
  • Software development experience is a plus.
  • Proven ability to set expectations, manage deadlines and hold individuals and teams accountable for meeting critical milestones.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Solid knowledge of SDLC (Waterfall and Agile) development methodologies.
  • Passion to challenge the status quo, find new solutions and drive out of the box ideas – loves and embraces change.
