Due to aggressive growth plans Polestar is currently looking to recruit an Aerodynamic Development Engineer.

Key Objectives & Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for carrying out the following duties as an Aerodynamic Development Engineer within the Polestar Vehicle Attributes team:

  • Lead the development of a Polestar project to meet challenging aerodynamic attribute targets.
  • Supporting the build of physical buck models for Aerodynamic wind tunnel testing (supplier liaison and sourcing).
  • Supporting the CFD analysis and simulation of the vehicle in the virtual stages of development
  • Working closely with the exterior Design team to ensure the vehicle can meet the aerodynamic attribute targets.
  • Planning and conducting wind tunnel tests in overseas European facilities.
  • Reporting out attribute status and aerodynamic strategy at relevant forums up to Director level.
  • Supporting any other aerodynamic R&D and advanced engineering projects as may be requested from time to time.
  • Occasional overseas travel to Sweden and other European countries will be required.


  • You will have a bachelor’s degree and equivalent experience in a relevant area, ideally in Aerodynamic Lift and Drag development within the automotive industry. 
  • Strong technical background in Aerodynamics or Fluid Mechanics with a proven track record in automotive aerodynamic development
  • Experience of full-scale wind tunnel testing and interpreting CFD simulation results
  • Be familiar with OEM product development systems and attribute target setting and benchmarking
  • Good project management skills with the ability to manage and lead a project independently with minimal supervision from their manager
  • Good initiative, with the ability to manage own time and priorities.
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal and aural), good collaboration skills, and the ability to work effectively across teams within the organisation.
  • Full driving licence is essential
  • No visa or other restrictions for working in the UK or travelling in the European Union
