Key Objectives & Responsibilities:

Working as part of the Polestar Attributes Team you will be responsible for supporting the development of all NVH attributes including:

  • Electric Propulsion System NVH
  • Road noise
  • Wind noise
  • Ancillary NVH
  • Pass-by & AVAS noise
  • Operational Sound Quality
  • Buzz, squeak and rattle


The Role:

  • Development of vehicle noise and vibration attributes from concept through to production
  • Subjective evaluation skills of vehicles and objective measurement
  • Vehicle Benchmarking and Target Setting for all NVH attributes areas
  • Support simulation teams with virtual development, correlation of models, identification of NVH countermeasures 
  • Work closely with the function groups to ensure systems and components meet vehicle level NVH targets
  • Support with planning and coordination of NVH test and development activities
  • Vehicle testing at UK Proving Grounds and occasionally at other European NVH facilities
  • Analysis and interpretation of NVH data to determine areas of concern and required corrective actions  
  • Produce test reports and report back to the business on the status and progression of the attribute performance
  • Support with the development and mentoring of junior NVH engineers


Requirements:

  • You will ideally have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent with automotive NVH industry experience
  • A thorough understanding of noise and vibration principles across a wide range of NVH attribute areas
  • A track record of successful delivery of NVH attributes on vehicle programs
  • A competent user of Siemens TestLab software and a detailed understanding of NVH instrumentation and its applications
  • Subjective evaluation and objective measurement experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to troubleshoot problems and advise on solutions
  • A creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to resolve issues and innovate where required
  • Good initiative, with the ability to manage own time and priorities
  • A flexible approach to work, with a desire to thrive in a dynamic and fast-moving environment
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal and aural), good collaboration skills, and the ability to work effectively across teams within the organisation
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office tools
  • UK driving licence
  • Desirable: experience in Battery Electric Vehicle NVH development
  • Desirable: experience with NVH simulation tools and techniques
  • Desirable: experience of active sound technologies, Transfer Path Analysis, modal analysis
  • Desirable: MIRA and Millbrook Proving Ground driver permits
  • Desirable: experience in HV systems
