Due to aggressive growth plans Polestar is currently looking to recruit a Senior Attribute Engineer - Vehicle Dynamics.

Key Objectives & Responsibilities:

You will be a key member of Polestar’s vehicle dynamics team and responsible for development in the fields of Ride, Handling and Steering.


The Role:

Working within the vehicle dynamics attribute team on delivery of an exciting current project, and taking future programmes from concept to production

  • Tuning and development combining a core technical and analytical approach with subjective in-vehicle evaluations
  • Work closely with Polestar’s Chassis Engineering and Vehicle Motion teams, as key internal collaborators, to deliver the vehicle attribute requirements for vehicle dynamics
  • Work with our Vehicle Dynamics / MBD simulation team to support virtual development, correlating models, optimisation, and specification of tuneable part requirements
  • Complete objective testing capabilities from installation of equipment and testing, to processing of results and reporting
  • Vehicle testing at Proving Grounds around the world, which could include Idiada, Northern Sweden etc.
  • Support Vehicle Benchmarking and Target Setting for ride, handling, and steering attributes
  • Assist with vehicle preparation for testing and development
  • Coordinate tuneable components
  • Produce and/or review of technical specifications and test reports
  • Support in-house advanced engineering projects within Vehicle Dynamics


Requirements:

  • You will ideally have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant area with industry experience in this area.
  • High technical understanding of vehicle dynamics principles and metrics
  • Good understanding of K&C and objective characterisation metrics and how they’re used to deliver on the vehicle level requirements
  • Previous experience tuning both passive and electronic systems is desired
  • Driving experience in OEM vehicle programs
  • Subjective evaluation and objective measurement experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to troubleshoot problems and advise on solutions
  • A creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to resolve issues and innovate where required
  • Good initiative, with the ability to manage own time and priorities
  • A flexible approach to work, with a desire to thrive in a dynamic and fast-moving environment
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal and aural), good collaboration skills, and the ability to work effectively across teams within the organisation
  • Experience with HV vehicle is a benefit but not essential
  • Travel within the UK and Worldwide for development testing will be required

As part of the selection process candidates may be asked to complete an in-vehicle assessment
