Manager, Technical Operations & Quality

Let us describe the challenge we offer

The Manager of Technical Operations & Quality will be responsible for leading the strategy of multiple teams that train and support the Polestar network with technical expertise, assistance, and knowledge transfer for the North American market.  You will be responsible for monitoring and tracking failure trend analysis, port quality assurance, regulations and compliance and managing the warranty process.

This role will require 25% overnight travel throughout North America


What you’ll do

  • Manage and oversee a team of technical operations specialists who provide first line technical support for the Polestar authorized service points
  • Ensure fast resolution times for cases escalated to the technical engineering team
  • Provide timely communication to the service point network centering around technical solutions
  • Develop action items that will deliver continuous workshop facility and process improvement to support Polestars growth
  • Oversee the technical support needs for media and marketing events, and coordinate a team of specialists accordingly
  • Collaborate with the port quality assurance team to ensure completion of quality actions on Polestar vehicles processed via ports of entry
  • Lead the warranty department for North America
  • Create and develop a platform to train and maintain competence for service point technicians
  • Stay up to date on regulations and compliance to ensure all launch and operational requirements are met or exceeded
  • To manage a team that will provide the Polestar network with action items for continuous workshop facility and process improvements


Who you are

  • 7+ years of experience in a technical or quality focused role in the automotive industry
  • 5 years minimum experience working with automotive retailers and/or manufacturers
  • Engineering degree preferred or problem solving / analytical skills otherwise obtained through automotive experience
  • Proven abilities to train and lead teams across various functions
  • Strong leadership and management skills honed through past and proven experience
  • Interpersonal skills that illustrate you understand the needs of and how to communicate with employees, automotive customers as well as suppliers
  • You have the ability to draw conclusions from large amounts of data and present to upper management
