Due to aggressive growth plans Polestar is currently looking to recruit an EDS Systems Engineer.

Key Objectives & Responsibilities:

The EDS Systems Engineers' main responsibilities are to:

  • Manage the collation of Electrical technical specifications using Polestar database and tools.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve technical issues within the circuit and EDS design
  • Lead circuit audits, co-ordinating between designers and components owners
  • Lead complexity definition for the EDS design ensuring optimised designs aligned to vehicle options
  • Translation of system diagrams for communications and data networks into physical harness topology
  • Optimise data networks ensuring compliance with Polestar and international standards along with functional requirements
  • Define, optimise and validate power distribution network with respect to fuse type and hierarchy ensuring compliance with Polestar and international standards along with functional requirements
  • Define, optimise and validate ground distribution network
  • Work with Polestar and supplier engineers to ensure Power mode and load balance of the 12V EDS system support all vehicle attributes
  • Analyse design data such as DT’s, ICD’s, circuits, and datasheets in order to identify incompatibilities, ensuring the issues are logged accurately and drive resolution of issues found
  • Be authorised / senior authorised person qualified to work on HV vehicles and rigs
  • Support EDS and Electrical test activities at Polestar, test house and partner facilities
  • Support prototype vehicle and test rig fault diagnosis of EDS and electrical systems
  • Support and perform DV and PV test activities ensuring on time completion of DVP with respect to the power supply and data networks
  • Identify, catalogue and communicate potential improvements in the EDS design to the Engineering team

Investigate new power and network distribution technologies that could be used on future Polestar vehicles


Academic Requirements

You’ll have a minimum of 5 years relevant automotive experience, with a high level of exposure to electrical system design and development. Your experience will include a demonstrable track record of electrical design projects and a thorough understanding of fundamental vehicle wiring harness design.
