Due to aggressive growth plans Polestar is currently looking to recruit a Senior HV EDS Project Engineer.

Key Objectives & Responsibilities:

The Senior HV EDS Project Engineer will be responsible for the following activities for HV harness assemblies:

  • Management of suppliers to ensure commodity is delivered on time and to cost, weight and quality targets. Work closely with Polestar Purchasing and SQA colleagues to achieve this
  • Lead supplier management meetings and manage supplier performance
  • Interrogation of supplier timing/commodity plans, ensuring a robust plan to meet MRDs and PSW Phase 1 & Phase 3
  • Management of 2D drawing development timing and release activities
  • Interrogation of supplier APQP data
  • Co-ordination of supplier DV & PV activities to meet Polestar requirements
  • Support DFMEA/CPA reviews and subsequent SCSS/PFMEA activities
  • Lead Change Management meeting and manage late change requests
  • Support supplier sourcing and nomination activities
  • Management and tracking of cost (D&D, VT, Piece Price) and weight status
  • Working knowledge of EVI technology and industry trends
  • Working knowledge of HVJB technology
  • Working knowledge of HV harness manufacturing processes and DFM

Academic Requirements

You’ll have a minimum of 5 years relevant automotive experience, with a high level of exposure to vehicle design & development activities. Your experience will include a demonstrable track record of design and product delivery to exacting standards and challenging deadlines.

  • Degree level in electrical, mechanical, or automotive engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Previous practical design and commodity delivery experience from an automotive or aerospace background.
  • Experience of Automotive DVP process.
  • Knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA and FMA processes.
  • Understanding of High Voltage vehicle EDS and electrical systems.
  • Working knowledge of DVP, FMEA, PPAP and APQP.
  • Knowledge of vehicle assembly process, especially EDS related aspects.
  • Understanding of EDS design and development process.
  • Application of electrical theory
  • Ability to manage multiple supplier partners
  • Proficient with Microsoft office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Projects
  • Excellent communication skills
