Due to unprecedented growth, we are now looking for a Lead Software Integration Engineer within the Polestar Core group. This position will be based at our HQ in Gothenburg, Sweden.

We are the heart and the brain of the vehicle that interface to core system components to deliver complex vehicle functions. We are responsible for the Core System which includes a high-performance multicore Computing Platform, hosting multiple future applications ranging from climate control to infotainment and autonomous driving.

What you’ll do
In this role you will take ownership of the integration planning and actual integration of features hosted on the core computer. You will manage the source code repositories and related build pipelines to create working SW baselines. You will liaise with cross functional stakeholders and partner OEM(s) to keep our team’s know-how up-to-date with respect to tools and processes.

You will be instrumental in configuring and supporting the management of Polestar’s Continuous Integration environment and be pro-active in the customer meetings of integration releases, problem management, change management and bugtracking.

As part of the SW integration process, you will also create automated tests and validation mechanisms to validate the integration work.

You will be required to assess and debug the performance of the core computer using industry standard methods e.g. Kernel analysis, Network trace analysis, Diagnostic Log and Trace, call/stack trace.

As a lead engineer you will be expected to take technical ownership of integration related activities, delegate and monitor tasks as part of an agile working environment.

Who you are
You have a strong wish to create the future of electric vehicles – it’s probably fair to call you an EV nerd. You are enthusiastic, motivated, well-organized, and driven. You have a knack for solving complex integration puzzles, debugging and testing. You have an inquisitive nature, and you will not rest until you analyse the issues at hand and reach to the root cause. You’re not afraid to try new approaches and unconventional methods, and you work well both individually and within diverse teams. You have a holistic view, including vision, business, and customers. 

To be successful in this role, we believe you have:

  • Experience in application software development using C++
  • Linux or QNX (preferable)
  • Experience with SW integration processes in a professional environment
  • Experience with Zuul / Jenkins or any other CI pipelines
  • Experience with Ethernet communication

Desirable skills, not a must:

  • ECU diagnostics
  • Experience with Docker
  • Scripting languages (e.g. Python) for SW testing and automation
  • Good knowledge on software architecture, design, and quality according to the ASPICE process model
  • Experience in automotive embedded platform and application software development using AUTOSAR.
