Studio Engineer Exterior Lighting

As a studio engineer, you will be the link and voice for design, in the cross functional work together with engineering. The role is really the central part in this cross functional team.

Are you a driven, innovative, and high tech interested person, that also possess extensive experience from working with exterior lighting in the automotive industry? Preferably within design engineering, either at Tier 1 supplier or other OEMs? Then we can offer a great opportunity for you, to join Polestar design studio, Studio engineering team, where you will be working in a highly innovative environment at Polestar HQ in Gothenburg, for a design driven brand with high ambitions on sustainability.

 

What you’ll do

As studio engineer, you will be part of the whole process from sketch to final design, working closely with designers and modelers. Furthermore, the work also includes working with concept vehicles and future lighting concepts.

As a studio engineer, you will be the link and voice for design, in the cross functional work together with engineering. The role is really the central part in this cross functional team. Your innovative skills provide ideas and new solutions to support the design themes, guiding the designers, as well as really pushing the engineering boundaries. These solutions are of course based on your extensive knowledge and experience in manufacturing processes, legislative requirements, cost, energy efficiency, and at the same time of course supporting the program timing.

Furthermore, the role contains documenting, managing, translating, and implementing technical input from engineering into feasible design themes and at the same time highlighting critical issues.

 

Who you are

We believe that you need the following to fit into this role:

  • BSc or MSc degree in engineering or equivalent
  • At least 10 years of experience from Exterior lighting in the Automotive industry
  • Strong communication and cooperation skills
  • Strong understanding of design
  • Not afraid to be in the center, challenged from both engineering and design side
  • Catia and Teamcenter skills

Other skills that are a beneficial for the role

  • Photoshop or similar, when creating presentations

You have a strong will to create the future of electric vehicles – it’s probably fair to call you an EV nerd passionate about solving climate changes. You are enthusiastic, motivated, well-organized and driven.
