Key Objectives & Responsibilities:

The Design Engineer will be familiar with some or all exterior mechanisms, including wipers, locks, latches, mirrors, door regulators, glazing and sealing.

You will have the following skills-

  • Experience in Automotive exteriors design from studio surface feasibility/concept phase to production readiness.
  • Design and construct CAD models in line with best practice tooling and manufacturing methods.
  • CAE, FEA , DVP & DFMEA understanding – process of design maturation.
  • Cross functional understanding and integration- BIW, closures, electrical modules, interior trim, EDS and exterior hardware.
  • Competent presentation skills when leading design reviews or other meetings.


Academic Requirements

  • Degree qualified or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant automotive design modelling experience using Catia V5 and high level of exposure to exterior mechanisms. Includes part modelling and complex assemblies, kinematics for creation of trace and keep out zones an advantage.
  • TCE experience also preferred but not essential.
  • Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and familiarity working remotely using Teams/Zoom or other collaboration tools.
