What you will do…
Responsible for the delivery of from concept through to production.
Project scoping at concept stage.
Development of Technical Specifications and Targets (system level cascaded to component) in line with recognised benchmark vehicles.
Creation and management of System Engineering Statement of Work (ESoW).
Support RFI and RFQ process with purchasing including generation of related engineering documentation.
Development of best in class and best practise Design & Engineering standards and procedures to support Polestar’s Forward Model Quality aspirations.
Ownership of System DFMEA(s).
Management of suppliers through Pre-nomination concept stage, along with management of suppliers from nomination through to production.
Ensure legal compliance, in coordination with suppliers and homologation teams, for all systems for all regions where the vehicles are to be delivered.
System Integration of instrument and or floor consoles into the full vehicle environment.
Ownership of the system Bill of materials Excel.
Development and upkeep of Bill of process.
Responsible for system validation.
Support physical testing when required. Component / Sub-system / System Crash.
Manage the CAD packaging with both the Supplier(s) and internal teams.
Create design proposals & concepts, and to participate in decisions regarding engineering changes and design direction.
Coordination of engineering activities carried out by the suppliers/partners – Design/Development, Test/Validation, Manufacture.
Coordination of suppliers to meet cost, time, quality targets for tooling and parts (prototype and production).
Coordination of all cross functional inputs/outputs for Styling, Package, Vehicle Integration, CAE, Test, Manufacturing, Service, Quality and Safety.
Interface for all other Systems groups (i.e. Chassis, Powertrain, Electrical, Body Structure, Exteriors, Closures).
Ensure that agreed deliverables are completed meeting cost, timing, quality, specifications and targets.
Ensuring the accuracy of the BOM (cost/weight tracking).
Development of FMEAs to support the Design & manufacture of the vehicles.
Development/management & development of the programs DVP&R.
Management of the Engineering Design team.
Provide reports to management – technical, concerns, status, planning.
Oversee release status meetings (PMST meetings at D&D suppliers).
Attend design reviews and support package and vehicle integration meetings as required.
Coordination of activities associated with the carry over and carry over modified parts including TVM and model year changes.
Who are you?
Have working knowledge of Catia V5.
Knowledge, and an understanding of, systems engineering and system development process methodology.
Experience working within Interiors, specifically Instrument Panel.
Understanding of vehicle packaging and occupant ergonomics.
Experience of vehicle development for North American & rest of world markets.
Experience with running a project using industry standard PLM/PDM & CAD systems
Knowledge of Plastic moulding, technologies and joining methods would be advantageous
Experience of system/component delivery within an APQP or similar framework (FMEA, quality planning, PPAP etc).

Able to work on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment.
You will be comfortable and competent in the management of system.
Will be a commercially aware Engineer with demonstrable experience in delivering products or systems for either an OEM or 1st Tier supplier.
Experienced in the management of Chinese suppliers and Chinese manufacture / assembly of instrument panels & floor consoles.
Experience of business travel in EU and China.
Have proven ability within an automotive engineering background with a number of years of experience of successfully delivering projects in an OEM or Tier 1 capacity with responsibility of instrument panel and or floor consoles.
Be able to lead a team of Designers.
Ability to plan and deliver projects within budget and within the scoped time.
Ability to manage a team, good interpersonal and communication skills.
You have an Innovative approach to management and team building.
Able to drive and commitment to deliver technically challenging projects
Ability to work proactively with minimal support using a logical approach in an environment with minimal documented processes.
You are able to actively use TeamCentre (TCe) and 3D viewing software.
