Let us describe the challenge we offer

The role of Business Development Manager for Polestar Portugal will act as the lead responsible for the Polestar Strategy and Business Development initiatives in the market. This entails key responsibilities such as managing the execution of the Go To Market planning and execution. As the Business Development Manager you will work in close collaboration with the Polestar APAC Region and HQ to secure the future business strategies and operations along with long-term development in the areas of the Polestar business focusing on partnerships and business opportunities connected to new mobility, connectivity and services. You will be reporting directly to the Managing Director of [Market] and in work alliance with the Head of Business Development APAC.

What you´ll do

Short-term (1-2 years)

  • Manage and Coordinate execution of the Go To Market initiative for Portugal together with the market, regional and global teams such as:
    • Formulate, organize and monitor inter-dependent projects
    • Decide on suitable strategies and objectives for the market
    • Manage projects through the full lifecycle and coordinate cross-project activities
    • Lead and engage project managers including external stakeholders
  • Act as market lead for the Financial Services partner relation and solution implementation
  • Together with the Management Director secure partnerships in the retail and network category to establish the Polestar Spaces and the overall Network set-up
  • Secure implementation and local integration to global digital landscape
  • Business plan and business case development

Long-term (2+ years)

  • Asses Business Development opportunities in [Market] catering to market requirements and securing Polestar’s wanted position with target customer segments
  • Identify and execute on revenue growth opportunities in new business models and expansion of the existing offers and solutions
  • Identify strategic partnerships and coordinate connected services development (assessment, business case, development etc.)
  • Management of reporting and KPI dashboard

You and your skills

  • Proven experience as a Business Development Manager, Program Manager or other managerial or management consulting position
  • Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods
  • Excellent Knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office; working knowledge of program/project management software is a strong advantage
  • Outstanding leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fluency in English
  • Excellent problem-solving ability
  • BSc/BA diploma in management or a relevant field; MSc/MA is a plus

Who you are

As a person you have ‘can do’ attitude and solid organisational skills including both attention to detail and multi-tasking. You have working experience in communicating to diverse stakeholder groups leveraging effective approaches for communicating information. Strong multi-disciplinary skills in business and financial analytics, modeling, strategic planning, marketing, marketing research, public speaking, influencing, and negotiation is strongly preferred. Recent experience to the Automotive industry and the current shift to electrification, servitisation and digitalisation of the value chain is seen as a strong merit.

The ideal candidate will bring relevant work experience, strong intellectual capacity and a rock-solid work ethic to the role. This position is at the market HQ in Lisbon. Periodically you will travel in market and region as a part of a global team.
