The Polestar Retail & Network Manager will be responsible for executing Polestar’s retail expansion plan in Australia and ensuring the achievement of retail and business goals of both Polestar and its Retail Partners. This role will also lead the development and activation of the Polestar Retail Network, ensure its compliance to Polestar’s Retail and Customer Experience standards on an ongoing basis.

Retail Strategy:

  • Develop consistent sales run-rate and profitability performance across the Retail Network
  • Ensure that Retail Partner reporting, including customer enquiry, sales, and financial reporting, is accurate and submitted on a timely basis
  • Design and align business plans and execute sales & marketing strategies with our Retail Network to ensure set KPI’s are achieved
  • Receive and provide feedback on the Retail Partner’s performance. Report to Polestar management on Retail Partner performance, market insights and competitor analysis
  • Implement ‘mystery shop’ to measure Retail Partner’s brand and product knowledge, Customer Experience and compliance of brand and Retail Partner standards
  • Liaise with the Planning and Order-to-Delivery team to ensure vehicle inventory and availability is being managed and monitored accordingly
  • Maintain strong communication lines between Retail Partners, Customer Care and Customer Service teams, and / or 3rd Party Suppliers (Financial Services, Roadside Assistance) for Customer contact resolution

Network Strategy:

  • Ensure brand and Retail Partner standards are adhered to and in line with the terms and conditions of the Retail Partner agreement
  • Ensure Polestar in-market representation is aligned to its brand standards
  • Work alongside central functions to ensure the latest programs and tools made available to the Polestar network are implemented and maintained
  • Lead the yearly retailer business planning processes within the region, ensuring the retailer network resources are aligned with the projected market throughput and overall business growth goals
  • Create and manage retailer agreements to support network changes and facility upgrades
  • Assist with the evaluation of network development activities including ownership changes, add points, sub optimal locations, and operator upgrades
  • Work with the Training Team to train, develop and engage Retail Partner team members to deliver and exceed the Retail and Customer Experience objectives of Polestar and its Retail Partners


  • Lead, coach, inspire and train customer-facing personnel at Polestar with extensive knowledge and insights on sales, network, product, customer service, and customer care
  • Lead Retail Partner relationships to drive the process-oriented, thoughtful work that meets overall objectives
  • Strong collaboration and coordination with regional and global teams



Who you are

You are driven, committed, with proven experience in sales and retail network development in the automotive industry. Strong knowledge of commercial operations and a Bachelor’s Degree (Business degree or equivalent is preferred). Master’s Degree and global experience is a plus.

  • Must be passionate and enthusiastic about sustainability and electric vehicles
  • Excellent project management skills, preferably in projects involving site selection, architecture, construction and / or implementation of franchise standards
  • Prior experience managing relationships with franchised automotive Dealers / Investors / Business Partners
  • Understanding of the automotive franchise legislation
  • Strong business and financial acumen gleaned from account or automotive management
  • Understand the needs of a premium Customer and the key drivers of satisfaction
  • Ability to think strategically and work tactically
  • Ability to work with and present to both Executive Teams, Retailer Principals and General Managers
  • Drive and determination to work in an evolving, fast paced environment

This role will involve regular inter-state travel in Australia.

To be successful in this role, you should have a proven track record in a global company structure with regional / local set-up. You have a strong strategic mind-set, as well as operational hands-on capabilities.
