Business and Sales Development Manager, Polestar Ireland

With Polestar’s expansion into Ireland this role will have strategic- and operational responsibility for the company’s activities in the market. This position is focused on establishing the exciting new Polestar brand and retail footprint to drive sales and revenue, deliver outstanding customer experience and generate sustainable profitability - therefore this role will need to manage both hands on operational tasks together with long-term focus on establishing a successful new EV-brand.

The Role

The primary purpose of the market function is to both execute on the global strategy and drive successful implementation in the local market. Polestar Ireland will work closely together with both Polestar HQ and Polestar UK to achieve operational synergies and alignment towards global standards.

Core Responsibilities

To establish and manage the overall Polestar operation in the market, combining strategic and operational leadership to ensure the best use of people and resources to reach the goals set by HQ.  You will work closely with HQ and Polestar UK in developing and executing the global Polestar strategy, ensuring appropriate market and voice of the customer input.

Short-term responsibilities include managing and coordinating execution of the go-to-market initiative. This involves a strong focus on operational planning and execution of establishing Polestar in Ireland particularly ensuring sales together with appropriate partnerships, marketing and logistical tasks as well as recruitment of key positions.

You will also:

  • Ensure all local market objectives / KPIs are owned and delivered by the team.
  • Coordinate Polestars sales and marketing efforts to deliver commercial and sales targets   
  • Manage the Polestar Space and/or Destination and deliver a world class and differentiated retail experience. Work closely with the Space team, HQ and UK stakeholders to shape and deliver the Polestar Retail proposition.  
  • Work closely with the Customer Care Centre to ensure that Polestar prospects and customers receive outstanding support at all times. Ensure that all elements of the Polestar ownership experience are delivered.
  • Develop and manage strong relationships with journalists, press agencies and external PR stakeholders to strengthen the Polestar brand and product knowledge in the market.

This position is based in Dublin and periodically you will travel within the market and region.

Key Competencies for Success                                                             

  • Proven experience in establishing- and securing operational success
  • Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods
  • Excellent knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving ability
  • Experience from automotive industry is preferred, and experience in industry shifts to service-, digital, and electrification is beneficial
