 The person:

  • Motivated and driven individual with a desire to always be better
  • A natural team leader with proven ability of taking on multiple tasks and delivering as both and individual and part of a team
  • Able to work without strict processes and procedures with a desire to improve existing solutions within the business
  • Minimum 5 years relevant automotive experience
  • A desire to take the next step in your career and lead the clash detection function including bringing in appropriate resource to support in the task ahead
  • Direct experience of complex commodity build/analysis activities – ideally full vehicle
  • Knowledge of different types of Engineering Data (CAD, NGD & Models)
  • Experience of Digital / Virtual series (ideally in an OEM environment)
  • Understanding of virtual tools – CAD, PLM, Digital Mock-Up & Clash Detection 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

 The Role:

Lead the clash detection function to;

  • Ensure designs are compatible, complete, robust and optimal prior to committing to prototype & production tooling
  • Minimise late design change
  • Ensure manufacturing, attribute and quality targets are met by design
  • Integrate with the whole vehicle engineering teams to sure timing is met
  • Help create and improve existing processes and manage to that process
  • Identify the best way to provide clash detection capacity and manage that implementation and associated resources

Minimum Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5 years working in Automotive or similar industry
  • TC & Viz mock-up experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal & organisational skills, with good attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work in start-up environment
  • A Design or Engineering Degree (Other recognised engineering qualifications combined with relevant significant experience will also be considered).

Desirable Experience:

  • CATIA V5 proficient
  • Experience in working on full electric vehicles
