About the Product Creation area

Digital Product Creation area is part of the Digital Product Creation & Industrial Domain. Digital Product Creation delivers processes, methods, tools and information capabilities towards Design, Research & Development (R&D) and Manufacturing Engineering (ME).

You will lead a team with responsibility for the SW development tools and infrastructure setup. The team focus is to enable speed of change, predictable, secure and high-quality Software development at scale for Polestar R&D engineers.

You will enter the Digital organization during an expansive construction phase, and you will have the possibility to influence the setup of our digital teams.


About the role

As the Digital Lead, you will own the vision and the roadmap for the digital team, and are accountable for planning & execution. You are accountable for specific business KPIs, and responsible for ensuring capacity demand and supply matching is upheld, on a long-term and sprint-basis. You will work closely with your team to ensure business value and user feedback is translated into new developments when necessary. Through your understanding of the market/industry, customer needs and your tech savviness you will ask the right questions and steer the team in the right direction.

We are looking for you who are a confident relationship builder, working alongside external and internal stakeholders to support your team in developing your digital products/services/platforms.


What you will do

  • Setting the vision for the Digital Team, and communicates this effectively to your team members as well as stakeholders outside the team and Digital Product Area
  • Collaborating with e.g., Digital Strategy team (under Deputy CDO), Head of Domain and DPM, to ensure the overarching Digital vision and solutions align with the team's strategy and requirements
  • Setting the end-to-end output strategy, from inception to production, for your team's digital products/services/platforms
  • Setting prioritization in terms of capacity, including flagging change in resource needs to DPM
  • Be responsible for following up on team-level KPIs and OKRs, and if needed steer the team's direction to meet set KPIs/OKRs
  • Supports the DPM in budget-planning for the Digital Product Area

Desired expertise and skills

  • Proven track record of performing in a similar role, with demonstrable skills of leading teams towards a product vision in an agile setting
  • Strong collaborator with cross-functional teams from tech, design, and business
  • Efficient communicator, comfortable speaking with business stakeholders
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of standard precision practices, technology and supporting industry principles
  • Experience with the direct to consumer sales model
  • Understanding and knowledge of various roles within an automotive organization and how they interact with the digital product offering
  • Proven knowledge of Software Engineering Management
  • Thorough understanding of Embedded Software Development for Automotive Industry
  • Knowledge of Software toolchains Bitbucket, Azure DevOps etc. and the infrastructure behind
  • Good understanding of CI/CD DevOps Pipeline
  • Experience from working with MATLAB and Python
