Let us describe the challenge we offer

We are looking for a new Business Controller to become a part of our Finance department, Commercial Control. You will be working closely together with Commercial Operations who are responsible for our existing and upcoming markets in Europe.

Since Polestar is a company that is expanding, going forward, the scope of work can shift but the core focus will remain related to business control within the commercial part of Polestar in order to secure the financial control and performance of the European operation.

You will report to our Head of Commercial Control. The position is located at our HQ in Gothenburg, Sweden.

What you’ll do

In co-operation with our commercial organization, the primary responsibility of this role is to drive Polestar’s expansion in our existing and future markets with specific liabilities to:

  • Be the financial business partner to the local MDs for a cluster of markets in European by initiating, supporting, challenging and following-up on the activities needed in order to secure a successful financial and operational development
  • Optimize the business opportunities in the European markets by exploring and benefiting from the expansion of the EV markets in respective market
  • Secure the set-up of the financial processes to support the roll-out of the Polestar opportunities in accordance with Polestar business model
  • Be the guardian of Polestar’s assets in the local PSUs and secure an optimized use of the company’s resources
  • Be the team leader for several Local Business Controllers operating in the cluster of European markets within Polestar local sales units
  • Be the main liaison between the operational organizations in the markets and the Polestar central departments from a financial perspective

Further on we believe it’s of great importance that you:

  • Have a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in business administration or similar with minimum five years of related experience
  • Have a strong capability in developing, understanding, and communicating financial analyses and outlooks as well as making appropriate business recommendations based on complex financial data
  • Have experience from working with sales and financial planning
  • Broad knowledge of and insight in the international automotive industry both from a wholesale and retail perspective, i.e. high level of business acumen
  • Strong skills in Excel is needed, and good knowledge in PowerPoint is wishful.
  • Knowledge of and experience from working with direct to consumer businesses is also a great asset
