Manager, Strategic Partnerships and Purchasing

Polestar is looking for a Partnerships and Purchasing Manager to support Polestar USA and Polestar Canada in developing critical partnership and supplier relationships. This role will be responsible for securing partnerships and developing a purchasing organization that will enable Polestar Automotive to expand in the US and Canadian markets.

This role will be instrumental in leading, coordinating and managing sourcing activities across all departments (digital, marketing, network, logistics, etc.), as well as negotiating current contracts. The role will lead all future sourcing and partnerships in North America, in conjunction with key stakeholders in the North American management team.

Let us describe the challenge we offer

  • Source, develop, and execute on innovative partnerships with vendors, suppliers, and other parties
  • Review purchase requisitions and identify and select contract/suppliers in accordance with defined strategies and agreements
  • Negotiate and lead review of contractual and financial terms for partnerships and vendor relationships for USA and Canada
  • Own a portfolio of contract relationships and build positive working relationships with external stakeholders
  • Lead internal and external business reviews covering strategic initiatives (cost, sustainability, terms and conditions, etc.)
  • Initiate and conduct supplier evaluations and supplier audits
  • Advise stakeholders on procurement issues, providing support and guidance at all stages of the procurement cycle as well as on modifications in requests. Improve collaboration with stakeholders and together towards common goals
  • Drive sustainability goals in the supply chain along with the sustainability team
  • Track supplier performance through regular and automated tracking of the quality, cost project deliverables across the network
  • Define and take corrective actions to improve contracts compliance
  • Take an active role in developing and supporting efficient standardized procure-to-pay processes.

Who you are

  • Proven ability to set expectations, manage deadlines and hold individuals and teams accountable for meeting critical milestones
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in procurement, project management, partnership development, contract review, vendor negotiations & supplier reviews. 
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Solve problems with relevant cross-functional experts
  • Creativity and drive to find great suppliers, vendors, and partners to support our growth in North America
  • Organization and precision in tracking contracts, deadlines, and detailed information to manage the purchasing department
  • Expertise with contract review and partnership negotiations with counter-parties
