Attribute development within active safety is crucial to the success of any original equipment manufacturer (OEM). This lays the foundations to designing and providing a safe product of the future. The want for active safety, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving (AD) has never been more prominent than now. Meaning that monitoring and evaluating competitors is necessary to gaining a competitive advantage.

Understanding, analysing, and reporting is key in this role. Helping others in the team to understand the requirements of the business, regulatory bodies, and external collaborations is essential to ensuring that our products fulfil customer expectations.

You will be responsible for the development of the attribute, from strategy to product, by cascading attribute requirements to the complete vehicle and systems, verifying complete vehicle requirements, and performing assessments in the projects.

Key Objectives & Responsibilities:

The Active Safety Attribute Owner is responsible for but not limited to…

  • Understanding and working to constraints such as commonality and carry-over systems.
  • Translating attribute strategies, social demands, such as legal requirements, customer requirements, and project requirements, to meet business objectives.
  • Performing active safety attribute analysis on the complete vehicle and assess the possibility of target fulfilment.
  • Participating in function, system, product module design and development.
  • Developing and ensuring that adequate analysis and verification methods; both virtual and physical, exist to technically describe, measure, and verify target fulfilment for customer experience.

Academic Requirements

You should be…

  • University degree educated or equivalent in a technical area.
  • Able to demonstrate experience from working within automotive research and development; attributes, testing, and computer aided engineering (CAE). Preferably within development work regarding active safety, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving (AD).
  • Experienced in developing test methods and sequences for homologation.
  • Knowledgeable within active safety testing prerequisites, legal requirements cascading & analysis methods, for example Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Able to demonstrate technical leadership, business acumen, knowledge of vehicle attributes and products.
  • Fluent in English, both verbally and written.
  • Excited and willing to support test teams and expeditions.
