Senior Systems Integration Engineer Electrical Systems

The Senior Systems Integration Engineer will be:

  • Responsible for leading the integration of existing electrical systems into new vehicle programme
  • Single point of contact representing the wider Electrical Systems and EDS teams
  • Working closely with existing Electrical Systems / EDS Subject Matter Experts and Vehicle Integration to deliver system designs that meet the requirements of component and system specifications
  • Responsible for highlighting, defining and leading new system developments required to deliver new product content
  • Support technical discussions with suppliers, internal cross-functional teams and partner OEM
  • Develop and deploy work packages internally and externally to prove out design concepts to meet programme timing
  • Issue management, from problem identification through countermeasure / solution using company issue management system (JIRA)
  • Manage electrical BoM (Bill of material), complexity, cost, and weight
  • Working closely with Electrical Function Group Programme Manager to communicate programme status at key gateways
  • Preparation of reports and feedback to the technical and project management teams

The Person:

  • Demonstrable experience (7+ years) of Electronics at a systems or vehicle level
  • Should have experience of the full product lifecycle, from concept through to vehicle launch
  • Experience of Automotive product development systems (VPDS, FPDS, GPDS, NPDS etc)
  • Experience of engineering and business release processes within the automotive sector
  • Practical experience of vehicle electrical architectures based upon Ethernet, CAN, LIN and Flexray
  • Experience of delivering electrical systems in accordance with EMC requirements
  • Understanding of Functional Safety and safety analysis techniques (HARA, FMEA, FTA, etc)
  • Practical experience of using PLM systems (Teamcenter) and CAD packages (CATIA) or visualisation applications
  • Excellent communication and co-ordination skills - at ease coordinating a team of engineers and suppliers
  • Flexible, enthusiastic, and methodical individual who is self-motivated, able to work well under own initiative and remain focused under pressure
  • Electrical, Electronic Systems, Electro-mechanical, Automotive, or similar honors engineering degree Other recognized engineering qualifications combined with relevant significant experience may be considered
